maut karmat ne bachaya aashiqi ka martafa
sar katva diya par na apne faal se gira
kat gaya jo sar to sar se kat gaya jo sar to sar se

aye khuda tujhe tere rasul ka vasta
mujh gunehagar ko dikha de nek rasta

I will tell you what faith truly yields,
Lower your head in prayer, and God reveals.
There is no god but God, and Muhammad, his seal.

Thus, Love was enacted, Husayn's sacrifice,
His home surrendered, in God's sweet device.
The earth did tremble, the earth did tremble then,
And heaven spoke of love, again and again:
There is no god but God, and Muhammad, his seal.

No end could be foreseen, the world's final plea,
Yet Ali's son possessed such bravery.
The blade descended, the blade descended near,
And severed head declared, for all to hear:
There is no god but God, and Muhammad, his seal.

Death's embrace, the lover's final stand,
He offered his head, in that promised land.
Severed and fallen, severed and fallen there,
From the severed head a sound beyond compare:
There is no god but God, and Muhammad, his seal.

Oh God, by your Prophet, this plea I impart,
Show this sinner the path, to a righteous heart.
His burdens were lifted, his burdens were freed,
Who uttered these words, in his moment of need:
