Grief's cold embrace, our only taste.
As life's long road unfolds its way,
Death's shadow lengthens every day.
Each breath a struggle, fiercely fought,
Then sleep descends, a haven sought.
If struggle is the life we claim,
Then tell me, what’s the living’s name?
Reflect upon this, if you dare,
Reflect, with soul laid truly bare.
