Suresh Shenoy on Monday, May 28, 2012 Thanks for uploading this wonderful gem. This is rare song: It starts with
swaras. Sung by Kattasseri Augustine Joseph Yesudas. In the pallavi, the
poet ends with his lines "re ga" First, ni sa ga ma pa ni sa re ga...and in
the second line "aa sang mere gaa". The raga creates a wonderful feeling of
love in the minds of the listener. I had in my cassette collection. But
lost due to fault. When salil called KJY to Bombay, this was his first
song. Sad that KJY was not given much chance in Hindi.
Aruna Trada on Thursday, May 02, 2013 Thank you Shreenav, for your reply. Im not an expert on classical raags but
i have a little knowledge as i have learnt for some years. I dont think it
is Kalavati because Raag Kalavati does not have Ma in its aaroh or
avroh. However many music directors tend to mix raags so possibly kalavati
could be mixed with another raag.
Prem Nair on Sunday, July 28, 2013 as only as he cud. the master is unmatchable as he puts such feelings,
composition no doubt is gr8. does not belong to this era or generation as
such kind of love --- no way now
disinformatique on Sunday, September 01, 2013 You can read about Khayal on Wikipedia and then look for it online, there
won't be any title in any song though, it's a singing and poetic style than
some genre.
Anil Rao on Friday, April 10, 2015 varied opinions on which raaga this song is based on..kalyani,bihag,khamaj,
kalavati, et al...or is it something else...and i wonder what the 'taal'
is ?
