yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavathi bharat
abhyudhanama dharmasya tadatmanam sreejamyahan
paritranaya sadhunaam vinashaya cha dushkrutam
dharmasansthapanarthaya sambhavaami yuge yuge

When Dharma's light begins to fade, O Bharata,
And shadows of the law grow dim and dissipate,
When wickedness ascends its throne of wretched reign,
I manifest Myself, to rise and live again.

To shield the good, from malice's venomous sting,
To shatter evil's grasp, its darkness to unhinge,
To re-establish Dharma, in the cycles' endless dance,
I come, in every age, to give the world a chance.
