Darkness draped, a shroud on all the sight,
Directions hushed, bereft of moon or light.
No cosmos spun, no life's soft, fragile gleam,
No flesh, no breath, just an eternal dream.
Alone, the Purusha, Om's silent hum,
Alone, the Brahman, from whom all things come.
Longing stirred within that formless space,
"Behold, we are so dark, in this empty place."

From one to many, the thought took flight,
He summoned forth his nature, into empty night.

Then male and female, joined in sweet embrace,
The world awakened, with joy upon its face.
A new bloom opened, a gift divinely sent.
