Saikat Ray on Friday, June 19, 2009
This is a beautiful song. However, the tune is copied note-by-note from an
old Nazrul Geeti "Aruno Kanti Ke Go Jogi Bhikhari".

Arindam Sengupta on Saturday, September 05, 2009
superb song - one of the most melodious in hindi films, though a true copy
of the Nazrul song as mentioned by raysaikat

music!

gbhuven on Monday, June 20, 2011
Manna Da has a unique voice. And in the Sixties he achieved the "SHIKHAR" of his
singing geets and popular hindi songs.
Nobody but Manna Dey could have done it--With obviously SD Burman's music

nirmala ramachandran on Thursday, June 23, 2011

I can feel Kishore singing this song.

Anyways amazing singing by Manna. I would have thought this song would have been great by Rafi and the other song Naache man more magan would have been greater by Manna.

Such great singers...

Poochho na kaise maine rain bitaai Ik pal jaise, ik yug beeta – 2 Yug beete
mohe neend na aayi Poochho na kaise…. Ik jale deepak ik man mera Phir bhi
na jaaye mere ghar ka andhera Ik Jale deepak ik man mera, man, mera, mera

GUNIDAS on Wednesday, July 27, 2011
The intense pathos associated with raga Ahir Bhirav is captured beautifully
in Shailedra's lyric, incorporated in SD Burman's musical composition and
expressed uniquely in Manna Dey's singing. I doubbt whether such a gem of a
song will again be created in Indian film music

KJAAN on Wednesday, July 27, 2011
@GUNIDAS You might be right. Those days the musician really took their time
to create a music that not only had good composition, good lyric and good
music. Nowadays, everyone sit in their computer and create music that has
no feeling or pathos.

pushdeshin on Saturday, July 30, 2011
salute to SD, Manna Dey and Dadamuni

talatdhk on Monday, August 22, 2011
@GUNIDAS You have really stolen my words exactly in appreciating the song's
beauty. I completely agree with you. This is my most favourite song by
Manna Dey. This gives us a gist of what Singers like Tansen and likes must
have been like.
